Mullewa Autumn Roundup

What an exhausting and totally exhilirating weekend I had in Mullewa for the annual Autumn Roundup. Rachel and I both went along as instructors (as we had previously mentioned in our blog) with Rachel creating amazing silver clay pieces with her students and myself, polymer clay pieces.

My cheeks were so sore at the end of weekend from smiling and laughing so much. Thanks to all my wonderful students - I am so proud of each and every one of you.

Ghosty Gremlins in Gero

Ghostly, ghoulish, ghastly and gruesome..... but oh-so-cute!!! What fun we had creating this amazing bunch of Gero Gremlins. Thanks so much to Christi for allowing us to bring these creative little creatures to the Midwest of WA. They are an absolute hit. We gave them names, created their characters and had a great time.

Mullewa Monsters!!!

The fun times continued in down town Mullewa, with a little series of workshops at Our Lady Mount Carmel Catholic School...where we made a series of uniquely Mullewa monsters....thanks to the fantabulous Christi Friesen and her lesson plan on Goohlies...but we decided it was best NOT to call them Goohlies! The students would have had way too much fun with that one! Some times those Yanks really do use the rudest words for all the wrong reasons! Ha, Ha! You gotta love quirky cultural differences!!

The kids didn't need much assistance, after a general run down they were off and flying and created a whole army of crazy little dudes, and then while their imaginations were on the go we got them to write stories about how these guys came into being, which I then used to make most lovely little booklet of their stories and images of a selection of their Monsters! When I work out how, I'll post some pages from the booklet!

Mullewa Community Workshop

What an incredible day it was yesterday. Rachel has done an amazing job of organising a week of workshops for a group of women in Mullewa, which has seen them create some incredible pieces with polymer clay.

I'm absolutely loving the finish this product gives. These are all practice pieces - so now time to work on something serious!!!! ha - can I possibly do anything serious??

These were destined for the rubbish bin but am totally loving how they've turned out. They are almost complete - a bit of "fluffing" to finish off and then they will become bronzy rusty rings. Yummo!!!

A heart or seven for Valentines day!

I've been playing with cork clay and without any consideration for the big 'V' day approaching it was hearts, hearts, hearts that my hands were called to create...and it felt right to share them with you today!
